2023 Bill D. Hamilton
William D. Hamilton was nominated and inducted into the West Virginia Hunter Education Hall of Fame for his tireless public service work, protecting West Virginia’s Law Enforcement and Natural Resources. A Volunteer instructor that not only teaches, but is a team leader for the many Hunter Education classes in his District. Bill is a Senator that his works speaks for itself and has not gone unnoticed within the state of West Virginia. As a Team Leader Bill has taught classes for 33 years in at least 4 counties in his District and in 2009 recognized as District Volunteer Instructor of the Year in District 3. Bill is a member of Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM, Tennerton Lions Club, Potomac Highlands Shrine Club, Upshur County Shrine Club, Osiris Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Wheeling, National Wild Turkey Federation, Life Member of the National Rifle Association, Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598, Named “2001 Agent of the Year” by Independent Insurance Agents of West Virginia, 2005 Citizen of the Year, Southern-Upshur Business Association, Upshur County Farm Bureau, Mountaineer Chapter-Izaak Walton League, Lifetime Member Upshur County Association of Retired School Employees. He has served in the WV Legislature for 21-½ years, (16 years in the WV House of Delegates and 5 ½ years in the WV Senate. Bill is a forthcoming individual; it doesn’t matter who he comes in contact with, if they need help, he will go out of his way to volunteer or offer assistance. He is a true benefit to the Hunter Education Program and the citizens of West Virginia.
